In September 2005, students, interns, recently licensed architects, seasoned practitioners, educators, regulators, and many others gathered in San Antonio for Designing Tomorrow’s Architect: The 2005 Internship Conference to consider a new paradigm for architectural internship. The goal of the conference was to ensure the architecture profession remains relevant and valuable to future generations of architects. Discuss the findings of the AIA’s ARE Timing Study, the 2005 Internship and Career Survey-completed by the AIA in partnership with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and ArchVoices-and the results of the conference.
Learning objectives:
- Review the findings of the AIA's ARE Timing Study and the 2005 Internship and Career Survey
- Explore the outcomes of the 2005 Internship Conference
- Discuss ways to foster emerging professionals in our profession.
